Automatic Wire Gate Latch

The pictures show the latch closed, ready to be opened with the loader bucket.

This shows the partial eye hole going into the 3 rods that are welded together. When the 3 rods turn, the gate falls open. This shows it hooked up and the rope put away so it’s ready to be hit with the loader tractor.

I used it most of the time with just the top rod to be hit with the loader tractor. The bottom rod is made to be hit with a pick up. Either one could be used with a horse.

The gate trips I have made up don’t have the bottom rod. The bottom rod option isn’t as dependable, and is harder to install and bend the rod. It does work though. For this to work best, the gate should be 30- 40’ long.
