NCC Premiers New High Speed ADSL INTERNET SERVICE!

"Super-Link", high-speed Internet service from Northwest Communications Cooperative is now available to our subscribers. Because of the new ADSL (Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line) technology, equipment will work only for subscribers who are located within 3 cable-route miles (15,000 feet) of an exchange central office. As with any new technology, improvements are being made daily to extend the working range of the equipment. "Super-Link" does several things. ADSL allows you to use just one telephone line for both Internet and regular telephone service at the same time!   "Super-Link" allows a direct connection to the Internet without the need for dial-up, and connects at speeds nearly 5 to over 10 times faster than standard 56k dial-up connections. With the increased connection speeds, comes an increased monthly cost; however, when you consider that the standard Internet service fee of $19.00 and in most cases a 2nd line for $18.00 are both included into the cost of "Super-Link", the additional cost for high-speed access is minimal. Service begins with the "Super-Link" Residential 128 kbps(kilobits per second) at a rate of $49.95 per month. "SuperLink" 256kbps is just $59.95 per month. The "Super-Link" 512 receives at 512 kpbs for $104.95 per month, and the "Super-Link" 960 connects at 960kpbs receive speed for only $194.95. Connecting two or more computers within a business (LAN) adds $10.00 more per month to any of the rates quoted above. Any "Super-Link" installation requires a Network Interface Card to be installed in your computer ($50.00), a $95.00 installation charge, and an ADSL modem for $299.00. The ADSL modem may be leased at a rate of $12.00 a month. The monthly charges are for the circuit, central office termination, one telephone filter, the Internet service and one (1) e-mail account. Additional e-mail accounts are available for $2.00 each per month. No premise wiring is included in the above pricing. For specific details regarding your installation, please call Northwest Communications Cooperative during normal business hours and ask for either Vern Ryan or Ryan Olson at 1-800-245-5884 or 1-701-568-3331. "Super-Link" High Speed Internet is available now from NCC in Ray!

Here are the terms and conditions of our ADSL "SuperLink" service:

First you must determine if your home is within three cable-route-miles of one of our exchange central offices.                                                             The ADSL "SuperLink" services will only work within this distance .

Pricing is as follows:

$49.95 - 128k downstream/64kupstream connection. Residential only.

$59.95 - 256k downstream/64k upstream connection. Business or residential connection

$104.95 - 512k downstream/64kupstream.

$194.95  - 960k downstream/64k upstream.

These prices are for a single user system.

Multiple users of two or more computers within a business increases the above rates by $10.00 a month.

There are also some upfront costs associated.

    1) A $95 fee for connection in the Central Office.

    2) Your computer will need to have a Network Interface Card (NIC) installed, if not currently equipped.

3)You will need a filter at your home to allow your telephone service and SuperLink to use the same telephone line.

4)Any wiring needed at the customer's home will be billed at a rate of $60/hour

5)You will need a DSL modem which we will sell or lease to you. They are $299, or a lease would  be $12  per month.

Two things to note about this service:

    1) This is an "always on" connection;  there is no dialup required.  Just turn on the computer and you're on, and at a much faster speed than              a dialup modem.

    2) There is no need for an additional internet phone line; your telephone still works for incoming or outgoing calls while you are online.
