THE COLUMBUS PROJECT

This site; www.nccray.com/columbus.html , is small because it explains a very simple concept.  The Columbus Project will not be relevant to 99.99% of all US Citizens.  To find out if you are one of the approximately 28,000 people who will be interested, please read further.

The Columbus Project is about time and money.  Specifically, how you make your money, what you spend your money on, and what you do with your free time.  The concept is this:  move to Columbus, which has a very low cost of living, and you can spend your time and money on things that you really want.

First, ask yourself the following questions:

1.        How do you earn a living?

2.        What do you spend your money on?

3.        What do you do with your free time?

How do you earn a living?

¨       Are you self employed, and working in an industry where you can telecommute to work?

¨       Or, do you own a larger business relying heavily on the telephone and Internet?  Light manufacturing and assembly operations? If this applies to you, keep reading.

What do you spend your money on?

¨       If you are currently choosing between making your house payments or saving for your children’s college tuition, please read on.

¨       If you want to practice sustainable living by spending (and consuming) less, the Columbus Project is for you.

¨       If you dream of traveling the world someday, but you know you will never have enough money (or time) to do it, please consider Columbus.

What do you do with your free time?

¨       If you currently commute 1-½ hours a day, please inquire further.

¨       If you want to retire early, please consider Columbus.

¨       Are you interested in working on community development projects.?

¨       Do you want to spend your spare time on “things that make a difference”?  If so the Columbus Project may be for you.

The Columbus Project includes an extended geographical community that is centered at Columbus, ND.  This community extends 30 miles in any direction from Columbus.  The Columbus area is rural, with farm and ranch land dominating the landscape. This community includes the following:
